Sustaining Way Receives Proclamation From the City of Greenville

The Mayor of the City of Greenville, Knox White, proclaimed January 27th, 2021 “A Day of Joye-‘The Sustaining Way’ Day”. In honor of our Founder Rick Joye, and his service as a Faithful Steward of the Earth.

On behalf of our entire team and the community members that we serve, we are so proud to have Sustaining Way’s work recognized through this beautiful proclamation. We are truly humbled to receive this honor and wholeheartedly share this recognition with the many volunteers, partners, mentors, community leaders, and Nicholtown residents who have helped to propel the vision for Sustaining Way into reality.

We appreciate the recognition of our work in the Nicholtown community and throughout Greenville and hope that the awareness this proclamation generates will support our goal to build a sustainable and equitable future for all residents of Greenville County. When public health conditions allow, I invite you to visit Annie’s House and see firsthand how we are providing residents with the tools and resources to educate, empower, and develop themselves in ways that promote responsibility, creative thinking, environmental stewardship, employability, and self-confidence.

Thank you again to everyone that made this possible!

Sincerely,

Rick Joye
