Carlos Terry hired as New Sustainable Agriculture Coordinator

Sustaining Way is pleased to announce the addition of Carlos Terry as our new Sustainable Agriculture Coordinator.

Driven by a desire to serve and protect those he’d come to know as family, Carlos joined the United States Navy as a Nuclear Electronics Technician in 2009. Following his service, he studied Electrical Engineering at Trident Technical College. Carlos later moved to Columbia, SC to worked at Royal Greens Hydroponic Farm, a commercial scale agricultural farm, as their Plant Health Supervisor and Data Management Lead.

At the end of 2015, as the Farm and Greenhouse Supervisor at Thrive Upstate (formerly Greenville County Disabilities and Special Needs Board), Carlos provided horticultural therapy as well as agriculture workforce training to adults with special needs. This opportunity connected Carlos with many organizations and people that shared his goal of bettering the lives of neglected or underutilized individuals. In his role as Sustainable Agriculture Coordinator, Carlos continues his commitment to service while reaching out to enrich communities in the town he loves.

In his spare time, Carlos enjoys trail running, canyoneering, hiking, circus, and culinary arts.

“Live simply, live in harmony, and give love while honoring one’s self,” is Carlos’ mantra.
